Troop 50 has been Scouting for over 70 years!
We are a Scout-led Troop!
BSA Scouts are between 10 and 18 years old. The Scouts are assigned to a mixed-age Patrol of 8 to 12 Scouts, led by a Patrol Leader (a senior scout). The Patrols report to a Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) that is elected by the Scouts. Our SPL plans the activities for the Scouts with the leadership team. This team includes the Assistant SPL, the four Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders, our Adult Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters.
We are a High-Adventure Troop
As a high adventure troop, we plan monthly outings. We look forward to the journey, not the destination and strive to challenge ourselves in our experiences. Whether you want to just explore the outdoors or make it all the way to Eagle Rank, Troop 50 offer something for each member's scouting experience. We are all inclusive.
Meetings
We meet at Saint John's Presbyterian Church in West Los Angeles. At our meetings we practice scout skills and work on rank advancement; we format our monthly outings, where each patrol determines their meals for the next campout, creates the shopping list, determines which scout will do the shopping and determine what gear will be needed for the next campout.
